Annual Wright City Blue and Gold Scholarship Fundraiser
The Blue and Gold Dinner Auction is close to the heart of FMB Bank’s President Kristin Ruge Beckmeyer. Being a Wright City High School Alumna, Kristin was asked by Bill Groeper and Corwin “Butch” Ruge to assist in fundraising for the WCHS Scholarship fund. Bill Groeper and Butch Ruge started the Wright City Scholarship Fund and held annual golf tournaments to raise money for our students. They asked Kristin to get involved in 1999, she proposed the idea of a dinner auction and Blue and Gold was born! In its first year, with contributions from businesses and community members, they raised $42,000.00!
This year in 2025, after 25 years, Blue and Gold has given over 1 million dollars in scholarships to Wright City students.

First Friday on First Street- Back to School Bash!
Every year FMB Bank donates backpacks to give out at the First Friday Festival put on by the Wright City Downtown Revitalization Committee. Many local businesses come together to provide needed school supplies for kids in our community. We set up our booth at the front, kids pick out a backpack with us, then walk down first street collecting supplies from all the vendors- filling their backpacks! Along with free school supplies, the festival offers bounce houses, a bubble bus, many food trucks, and craft vendors. We are so proud to be a part of this community and all it has to offer.
